What We Do
FinanceTools is a free website offering practical financial calculators, health tools, and unit converters for everyday use. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — nothing is stored on a server, and you don't need an account to use anything.
We built FinanceTools because most online calculators are cluttered, inaccurate, or buried behind sign-up walls. Our tools cover the calculations Indians do most — income tax, loan EMIs, SIP returns, BMI, age, and 30+ unit conversions — all in one place, for free.
The goal has always been the same — give you an accurate answer in seconds and get out of the way.
Who Writes and Maintains FinanceTools
FinanceTools is an independent website. Articles and calculators are produced by the FinanceTools editorial team rather than by named individual contributors, so every piece is published under a single byline and held to the same process described in our Editorial Policy.
Every calculator formula is checked against the primary source it is based on, such as the Income Tax Department, the Reserve Bank of India, EPFO or the National Savings Institute, and every article lists the sources it draws on at the end of the page. When a rule, rate or limit changes, we update the affected tool or article and record the update date on it.
We do not give personalised financial, tax, legal or medical advice. If you need advice for your own situation, please consult a qualified professional.

- Income Tax Calculator
Calculates your income tax liability for FY 2025-26 under both the New and Old tax regimes. Enter your income and deductions to compare your tax outgo under each regime and find out which saves you more.
- SIP Calculator
Estimates the future value of your monthly SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) contributions using compound interest. Useful for planning mutual fund investments over 1 to 40 years.
- EMI Calculator
Calculates the monthly EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) for home loans, car loans, or personal loans. Shows total interest payable and a full amortisation breakdown.
- BMI Calculator
Works in both imperial (feet, inches, pounds) and metric (centimetres, kilograms). Shows your BMI value alongside a colour-coded scale and the four standard categories based on NHLBI thresholds.
- Age Calculator
Enter a date of birth and a reference date (defaulting to today) to get an exact age breakdown — years, months, days, and the total number of days lived. It also shows when the next birthday falls.
- Unit Converters
Over 30 individual converters covering length, weight, temperature, volume, speed, area, angle, and power. Each one has a live two-panel interface so you can type in either direction.
How We Handle Accuracy
We take the numbers seriously. Income tax calculations follow the official FY 2025-26 slabs and rebate rules published by the Income Tax Department of India, including the 4% Health and Education Cess, the Section 87A rebate and marginal relief. EMI calculations use the standard reducing-balance formula. SIP projections use compounded monthly returns.
BMI formulas follow the NHLBI standard — 703 × weight(lb) ÷ height(in)² for imperial and weight(kg) ÷ height(m)² for metric. Unit conversion factors come from the International System of Units (SI).
If you spot a result that looks wrong, please contact us. We review every report and correct errors promptly.
A Note on Health Information
BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. It tells you where your weight-to-height ratio sits relative to population averages, but it doesn't measure body fat directly and doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, age, or sex. A single number from a calculator is never the full picture of someone's health.
If you have questions about your weight or health, talk to a doctor or registered dietitian. Our tools are here to give you a quick reference point, not a medical opinion.

We don't ask for your personal data. There are no accounts, and what you type into our tools stays in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited, and Google AdSense to show ads; both run only with the consent choices you make in the cookie banner.
